When venturing into something new, it’s normal to have questions.  Finding trustworthy information can sometimes be complex, especially when that something is male chastity.  A rapidly growing, yet newer lifestyle with a shadow of taboo over it.

I get asked often, Austin, does chastity cause erectile dysfunction? Can chastity cause issues down there? Rest assured, I’ve been a locked male for over ten years now, I have worked with hundreds of locked submissives, and I can safely say that chastity does not cause erectile dysfunction. Now, let’s deepen the topic.

What Is Erectile Dysfunction (ED)?

Erectile dysfunction (impotence) is the inability to get and maintain an erection firm enough for sex. Our bodies are complex machines with many factors affecting the same biological processes. Male sexual arousal is a complex process that involves the brain, hormones, emotions, nerves, muscles, and blood vessels. ED can result from a problem with any of these. Likewise, stress and mental health concerns can cause or worsen erectile dysfunction.

In their research about ED, The Mayo Clinic lists various risk factors that can contribute to erectile dysfunction, including:

  • Medical conditions, particularly diabetes or heart conditions
  • Tobacco use, which restricts blood flow to veins and arteries, can — over time — cause chronic health conditions that lead to erectile dysfunction
  • Being overweight, especially if you’re obese
  • Specific medical treatments, such as prostate surgery or radiation treatment for cancer
  • Injuries, particularly if they damage the nerves or arteries that control erections
  • Medications, including antidepressants, antihistamines, and medications to treat high blood pressure, pain, or prostate conditions
  • Psychological conditions, such as stress, anxiety, or depression
  • Drug and alcohol use, especially if you’re a long-term drug user or heavy drinker

Of course, there’s no mention of chastity cages, but neither is there any mention that consistent, controlled, compression during erection will cause ED. What needs to be avoided, is damage (especially to the nerves), and a high quality chastity cage like The Vice™ series, thanks to their modularity and perfect fit, cannot cause this sort of harm.

A Well Locked Cock, Without Shrinkage

Here is where different cage sizes come into play. If you want to keep every inch you currently have, you should choose a larger cage with, such as The Vice™ Standard. Or, if what you have between your legs makes other men jealous, perhaps The Vice™ Plus is for you. Choosing a larger cage will give your manhood the room it needs to grow when aroused, and prevent shrinkage. Besides having the option of choosing the size you want, The Vice™ is the only inescapable chastity cage in the world.  You can see more about how chastity can cause shrinkage in the article Chastity Shrinkage: Myth or Reality.

Medical Opinions About Chastity and Erectile Dysfunction

The Washington City Paper approached Dr. Stephen H. King, MD, a urologist in Washington State, who said: “I’ve never had a patient ask me about using, or admit to using, a male chastity device, and I cannot find a single reference in the medical/urological literature.” So, there’s no scientific proof of chastity causing ED. That’s good news. Yet, Dr. King also decided to consult another doctor whose specialty is urology trauma, and his colleague hadn’t heard of any issues related to chastity devices. “Perhaps that speaks to their relative safety,” said Dr. King. “If they were damaging penises, surely we urologists would be the first ones to know.”

Long-Term Chastity User’s Opinions About Their Experience and ED.

Samantha Claire’s husband, on her Quora page, shares with us his experience. “I have been locked in chastity for nearly four years, and I have had no damage or side effects. That said, my device is removed for hygienic purposes once or twice a week (and immediately replaced). Periodically and at her sole discretion, it is also removed by my wife for milking, a handjob, or a ruined handjob.”

I can also vouch for that. My experience with chastity has been joyous, self-realizing, mind-opening, and life-changing. I would’ve not dedicated my life to building inescapable chastity devices if I couldn’t get hard anymore and my sex life had been ruined. Check out my article Everything You Need To Know About Male Chastity to gain a deeper understanding of this exciting, life-changing decision.

Preventing Erectile Dysfunction While In Chastity

As mentioned previously, there are numerous factors that can cause ED. If you currently suffer from ED, talk to your doctor about it; together, you can find a solution. Just note that there is no medical evidence or scientific studies suggesting that wearing a chastity device is unhealthy or unsafe in the short or long term. There’s actually more information about the Health Benefits of Male Chastity than there are about the dangers.

Penile Shrinking and Male Chastity

Wait, what? Here you are concerned about losing the ability to get hard, and now I tell you that you might also shrivel your cock down? Do not panic. Yes, it is possible to shrink your cock if you want to.  It’s your choice whether you choose to shrink your size down or not.  It can also be entirely prevented if you prefer to maintain what you were born with.
